Round Up for Taking Ownership PDX!

Round up to the nearest dollar or more at the register for Taking Ownership PDX!

Taking Ownership PDX is a remarkable local organization dedicated to fostering wealth redistribution and empowering Black residents to achieve homeownership. In its mission, Taking Ownership courageously confronts gentrification and challenges Portland's troubling history of redlining. Spearheaded by Portland musician and activist Randal Wyatt, Taking Ownership operates as a community coalition comprising contractors, realtors, neighbors, and businesses united in their commitment to fostering equitable opportunities for Black homeowners.

Together we renovate and revive Black-owned homes that have requested our help, with an emphasis on enabling Black homeowners to age in place, generate wealth and simultaneously deter predatory investors and realtors to deflect the gentrification process.

While nothing can undo the decades of harm imposed upon Portland's Black community via deliberate historical redlining, gentrification and systemic racism, Taking Ownership is turning the tide with a commitment to impactful grassroots change in support of the Black residents of our city. (Taking Ownership)

As a community-focused Co-op managed and owned by Portlanders, and driven by principles of social and environmental justice, we are inspired to stand in solidarity with Taking Ownership PDX and their mission.
