Sold Out: Sourdough Bread Making: Getting Started with Your Starter

Ready to expand your baking skills?  In this free, two-hour, hands-on class you’ll learn how to create your own sourdough starter for delicious, nutritious bread. Using flour and water, you’ll take the first step toward a better-tasting, more digestible bread than those made with yeast.

Return home with a glass jar filled with your very own sourdough starter, plus detailed information on using it at home and keeping the starter going.  Instructor Naomi Dagen Bloom, breadmaker and creator of Kneading to Know, will also provide additional material on other starters like rye, spelt, and whole wheat to make from the locally-milled flours available at People’s.
